Sunfest Country Music Festival
It’s that time, in the middle of the summer, that the heart of the Cowichan Valley comes together for a enormous display of country music love. That’s right, this weekend is Sunfest Country Music Festival. It is different than any other west coast festival you’ve been to, the biggest difference is of course the exclusive country music genre, but there is also something about the crowd country music brings, something that country music does to a bunch of west coasters. You’ll find yourself wearing the boots, the hat, the plaid, that you didn’t even know you owned, and you’ll look good.
This year the line up includes huge country music stars such as Keith Urban, Joe Nichols and Lee Brice. They also hose some of our local favourites, like Sam Webber, Jessie Roper and the Wooden Horsemen just to name a few.
Last year over 40,000 people made it to Sunfest, and with people bring garbage. But before the Pemberton Valley Music Festival made the news for the massive amount of trash left on the fairgrounds, Sunfest had already released their “Johnny Sunfest” video about recycling.
