Drake ‘IF YOU’RE READING THIS IT’S TOO LATE’
A surprise album release with no notice; all of the sudden there it was. 2015 was a busy one for Drake. Not only did he release this out-of-the-blue rap album of the year, but dropped a set of three songs in response to a Meek Mill diss. Each of those three songs is great in their own right with ‘Hotline Bling’ taking the tail end of 2015 by storm. 'If You’re Reading This' feels like a minimalistic approach from Drake. Almost as if it’s an answer to the Drake nay-sayers and showing off how easy and effortless it seemingly comes to Drake. Songs like ‘Legend’, ‘Energy’ and ‘Know Yourself’ feel like an angrier Drake but a Drake who is absolutely on top of not only his game but on top of the rap game.
