Throwback Thursday: Tall Tree Music Festival
What to say about Tall Tree? Take your friends up the side of a mountain and party until the sun rises to the beats of fantastic bands and DJs? Basically yeah, that’s exactly what it is.
Port Renfrew is one of my favourite places, it’s so beautiful and remote you want everyone to know about it, but then you also hope no one ever finds out. There’s an energy down at the beach where the ocean meets the river that makes you feel like you are meant to be there, in that spot . . . forever. The festival is up on Browns Mountain, where you can see across the ocean and mountains, you feel like Simba from Lion King and everything the sun touches is yours. Then there’s the music. Four stages (main, side, crazy rave party, and comedy), packed with music. I think it’s something about the mountain air but everything just sounds better up there.
We made a crap-tonne of videos for Tall Tree last year. But a very special project that was close to our hearts was Das Music. The German TV show hosted by Hansel, who goes by the name Dan Duval in Canada.
